Here we are with a fresh Sound Of Stereo EP! The boys are back with yet another powerful release on Lektroluv. Titletrack “Volt” is so powerful that it might just blow the fuse… But don’t be afraid, if you like to play it safe, “Watt” is the track for you! It might be a little less ‘in your face’, but it is guaranteed to enlighten any crowd you play it to. 
To top it all off, we have wonderkid SCNTST (Boys Noize Records’ latest acquisition) and synthesizer wizard Transistorcake (remember his amazing Diamond remix?) on remix duty.

DUTCH DJ NICKY ROMERO ANNOUNCES COOPERATION WITH DAVID GUETTA

The Management of Dutch DJ and producer Nicky Romero announced today that Nicky has signed with David Guetta.

The deal is an incredibly exciting development in Nicky Romero’s career. The young producer’s charismatic personality, good looks and natural talent have made him hot property in recent months, this new deal is an early indication that he will be a 2012 addition to the ranks of the new breed of superstar DJs.

David Guetta is one of the music industry’s most sought-after producers. At the forefront of the urban dance explosion, he has worked with a host of big names including Usher, Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Kelly Rowland, Taio Cruz and Flo Rida.

Guetta is credited with creating the urban dance sound that now dominates charts across the globe. He has sold more than 5 million albums worldwide since his 2001 debut. Along with his two Grammys (one for his remix of Madonna’s Revolver in 2011, the other for his remix of One Love’s When Love Takes Over,) Guetta took home the Best DJ, Best Producer, and Best-Selling French Artist prizes at the 2010 World Music Awards.

Globetrotter Romero wowed audiences in Europe, Australia and the USA in 2011. Notable performances for 2012 include a slot at Ultra Music Festival during the Miami Winter Music Conference, a performance at the Mansion at the Fly Eye vs. Cr2 show and much more.

Romero recently completed a smoking hot remix for Madonna. The original material girl is back in the spotlight once again with her new album MDNA slated for release in March. Nicky has also announced plans to start his own record label in 2012.

His latest track, Generation 303, is out now on Musical Freedom, the record label owned and run by Tiesto. The track is currently #2 in the Beatport Top 100 Download Chart, making this the third time in a row a Romero single has exploded into the top five. Romero has also accepted a residency at Guetta’s night, F*** Me I’m Famous, at Pacha in the dance capital of Ibiza.

Romero, 23, will be making music alongside the Grammy Award-winning producer, starting with the release of a new single. Jack Back ft. David Guetta, Nicky Romero Sia – Wild One Two, the track was released 3 days ago and already holds the #9 spot in the Beatport Top 100 download chart, so it is a total Romero chart takeover for now!

The track pays tribute to Flo Rida’s 2011 smash hit, Wild Ones, taking the talented Sia’s vocal contribution and combining it with some irresistible big room hooks.

Wild One Two got its worldwide premiere on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio One show earlier this month. A preview of the track is available on Soundcloud and has already racked up more than 50,000 plays.

Toen Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston en David Marks onlangs onder het motto ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to do it again? Absolutely!’ de studio indoken om een nieuwe versie van ‘Do it again’ op te nemen, was dit meteen groot nieuws voor vele Beach Boys-fans. Dat ze een volledige nieuwe plaat zouden inblikken en ook samen op tournee zouden trekken, had niemand nog durven hopen Het feit dat Brian Wilson weer live van de partij zal zijn, spreekt het meest tot de verbeelding. Het brein achter de Beach Boys verliet in 1965 immers de live-band om zich volop op de compositie en productie van hun muziek te concentreren. Brian zou nadien slechts zeer zelden met de overige Beach Boys optreden. Het laatste opgenomen gezamenlijk concert dateert van 1980 te Knebworth.

In de zomer van 1987 speelden de Beach Boys op het strand in Knokke-Heist een zeer stomende set. Twee leden waren toen niet van de partij: drummer Dennis Wilson (de enige Beach Boy die echt kon surfen- was enkele jaren voordien verdronken) en Brian Wilson. Maar Carl, de derde Wilson, toverde toen -samen met Mike, Al en Bruce- het Belgische strand om in een waar Surfers’ Paradise! Het jaar nadien herrees Brian uit zijn as en eiste zowel live als in de studio opnieuw zijn artistieke plaats in de muziekgeschiedenis op. Naast nieuw werk beleefden ‘Pet Sounds’ (London, 2002) en de nooit uitgebrachte klassieker ‘Smile’ (Lokeren, 2004) hun live-debuut. Maar hoe mooi deze voorstellingen ook waren, het grote publiek bleef dromen van een echte ‘Beach Boys’ -reünie.

De droom leek definitief aan diggelen geslagen toen Carl (originele leadzanger van onder andere ‘Good Vibrations’ en ‘God Only Knows’) in 1998 overleed. Maar 50 jaar na hun ontstaan in Hawthorne California is het zo ver: Brian, Mike, Al, Bruce en David zijn één zomer lang terug met een programma vol (surf)hits en vooral veel fun. Bereid je maar voor op een avond vol ambiance en tijdloze knallers als ‘I Get Around’, ‘California Girls’, ‘Surfer Girl’, ‘Help Me, Rhonda’, ‘Barbara Ann’, ‘Surfin’ USA’, ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’, ‘Sloop John B’, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice’, ‘God only Knows’, ‘Heroes and Villains’, ‘Do it Again’, ‘Kokomo’ en ‘Good Vibrations’.

Destroyer nous arrivera tout droit de Vancouver pour présenter, à travers leur dernier album Kaputt (2011), un indie rock énigmatique, poétique et déroutant.

Les Néerlandais de The Ex, réputés pour leurs collaborations avec des musiciens de toute l’Afrique, s’associent cette fois au saxophoniste éthiopien Getatchew Mekuria pour nous livrer un étonnant mélange de free jazz et de post punk.

Si votre coeur balance entre folk et punk, vous serez sans doute ravis d’apprendre le retour de The Subways au Festival de Dour, tout autant que la venue des Américains d’Against Me!

Pour quelque chose d’un peu plus hard, c’est le jeune groupe Turbowolf, originaire de Bristol, qu’il faudra aller voir. A moins que vous ne préfériez les Liégeois de The K., lauréats dans la catégorie rock dur au Concours Circuit 2011 !
