Morgen ligt ‘Bedankt Vlaanderen’ – het nieuwe album van Nicole Hugo – overal in de winkels. Nicole Hugo brachten in aanloop naar deze release de prachtige eerste single ‘Schietgebed’ uit, een compositie van Bart Herman. De kranige zestigers zijn populairder dan ooit.

Zelf omschrijven Nicole Hugo het album ‘Bedankt Vlaanderen’ als de mooiste cd die ze tot nu toe hebben gemaakt. “Vlaanderen heeft ons zo veel gegeven en we zijn blij én dankbaar dat we nu ook eens iets kunnen terug doen. Voor alle duidelijkheid is dit geen afscheid, maar een welgemeende DANK U, omdat de mensen ons in hun hart hebben gesloten en wij de kansen hebben gekregen om te doen in het leven wat we het liefste doen: mensen gelukkig maken met onze muziek,” zeggen Nicole Hugo.

‘Bedankt Vlaanderen’ verschijnt op het label Vlaamse Sterren (CNR) en bestaat uit 13 gloednieuwe songs, inclusief de nummer één hit ‘Schietgebed’.

Yannick Bovy treedt op en signeert bij Free Record Shop

Vrijdag 10 februari om 18u30 bij Free Record Shop Waasland Shopping Center

Hardwell Spaceman North America Tour

Besides Aristotle once claimed a Sunday morning at Rue Blaes 7am: “the barbarians are not civilized, in view of the fact they are without fuse….

Hi continueth: “- The Fuse is the centre of Social life. It’s good to there walk, philosophize among friends, in the shadow of the smoking room, a portico with a succession of paintings recounting historic scenes and mythological episodes, adorned with plaques hailing the djs who have brightened up the dance floor since ages”. 

What a great sense this Aristotle, but he’s even better when he spends his night dancing! (words from his friend Plato)

Audacity and eclecticism are the key words of Sebastien Devaud, alias Agoria. Since 20 years, hailing from Lyon, he has been at the inception of the Nuits Sonores festival and the Infine label, and globe trots with the sole aim of igniting dance floors. Audace et éclectisme sont les maîtres mots de Sébastien Devaud alias Agoria. Depuis 20 ans, ce lyonnais notamment à la base du festival Nuits Sonores et du label Infiné, parcourt le globe avec comme seul objectif de ravir le dancefloor. In het oude Griekenland werd de naam Agoria gebruikt voor een plaats waar mensen samenkwamen, het stadsplein, een essentieel gedeelte van de stad.
Fuse is dat eigenlijk ook een beetje. Zoals Aristoteles ooit op en zondagochtend om 7 uur in de Blaesstraat zei: “de Barbaren zijn niet beschaafd, omdat zij geen Fuse hebben”.

Hij ging verder: “de Fuse is het centrum van het sociaal gebeuren. Het is leuk om er te zijn en te filosoferen onder vrienden, in de schaduw van de rokersruimte, een portiek met een opeenvolging van schilderijen met mythologische taferelen, verfraaid met naamplaatjes van dj’s die er de dansvloer hebben vermaakt.

Wat een gevoel toch die Aristoteles, maar hij is nog beter wanneer hij heel de nacht al dansend doorbrengt (volgens zijn goede vriend Plato)

For his live set he will be accompanied by the unique voice and island accent of the Dominican born Paul St Hilaire, alias Tikiman, one of the Rhythm and Sound acolytes since the inception, he grosses in projects such as The Bug, Moderat, Deadbeat etc….

"My dj'ing is all about serious fun", Niel Luinenburg has been making his contribution to the techno scene for a couple of years so far, and he has already had the chance to play regularly at Panorama bar, London's Fabric or even New York's Bunker. The hallmark of his sets is minimal but powerful.

Standard bearer of the new highly prolific Eastern European Scene, Vakulu treats us to deep house with jazzy and funky elements, a delight for the ears. He's currently publishing his numerous pearls on labels such as Shychenko or even Archipel.

Juju and Jordash are an Amsterdam Duo whose music is a fusion between acoustic electronics on the crossroads where Detroit techno and Chicago house mix with free jazz. Or to put it differently where the music of the future mixes with influences from the past, and how experimentation marries with esthetics.

]BÜM[ is the result of of research into the concept of modularity, sometimes in three dimensional space and otherwise in time. The result of this research is materialized thanks to a structure that can be transformed into multiple levels.

A tangible level: the structure is made up of identical elements of which the combination can take an infinitesimal amount of shapes according to the room in which it's installed.

A virtual level: video images are created by a reactive audio patch using the same principle of modularity. Created specially for the structure thanks to touch design real time synthesis software, these images are superposed on the first level allowing for a transformation into time.

OFF THE RECORD est une plate forme pluridisciplinaire qui se veut déchargée de toute contrainte marketing, dédiée principalement à la musique, mais aussi aux mapping et aux arts visuels en général, Off the record veut proposer quelque chose de différent, de frais, Quelque chose de pointu, de confidentiel, mais pas seulement réservés aux oreilles averties : le but étant d'élargir l'horizon du public à de la musique de qualité trop rarement proposée dans une scene de plus en plus vampirisée par le mainstream.

• MORITZ VON OSWALD (DE) ft Tikiman (DOM) •
Considéré par tous comme un des pionniers de la techno dite "berlinoise" et de la dub-techno , instigateur notament des projets Basic Channel, Maurizio, ou encore Rhythm and Sound, il est un des plus importants producteurs contemporains de musique électronique depuis plus de 20 ans. Il est aussi considéré comme leur mentor par des pointures telles que Carl Craig, ou en core Ricardo Villalobos.Il sera accompagné dans son live par la voix unique d et aux accents insulaires du dominicain Paul St Hilaire, alias Tikiman, collaborateur de la première heure de Rhythm and Sound, Il multiplie les projets aupres de The bug, Moderat, Deadbeat etc..

"My djing is all about serious fun". Niel Luinenburg apporte sa contribution a la scene techno depuis quelques années déjà, il a déjà l'occasion de s'exprimer régulièrement au Panorama Bar, au Fabric à Londres ou encore au Bunker de New York. Il dispense lors de ses sets une techno minimale mais énergique.

Porte drapeau de la nouvelle très prolifique scène d'Europe de l'Est, Vakula nous gratifie d'une deep house aux accents jazzy et funk, un régal pour les oreilles. Il publie ses nombreuses perles sur des labels tels que Shvchenko ou encore Archipel.

]BÜM[ est le résultat d'une recherche concernant le concept de modularité à la fois dans l'espace tridimensionnel et dans le temps.

Le résultat de cette recherche est matérialisé grâce a une structure qui peut se transformer à plusieurs niveaux.

Un niveau tangible: la structure est composée d'éléments identiques dont la combinaison peut prendre une infinité de formes selon l'endroit dans lequel elle est installée.

Un niveau virtuel : des images video sont générées par un patch audio réactif utilisant le même principe de modularité. Créées spécialement pour la structure, grâce au logiciel de synthèse temps réel touch designer,ces images se surimposent au premier niveau et permettent une transformation dans le temps.

OFF THE RECORD is een verwijzing naar een situatie, waar tijdens een interview, bepaalde dingen gezegd worden zonder dat die later daadwerkelijk gebruikt mogen worden.

OFF THE RECORD is eveneens een multidisciplinair platform dat zich wil ontdoen van alle beperkingen die er bestaan op het vlak van promotie, dat vooral gewijd is aan muziek maar ook beeldende kunst in het algemeen in kaart wil brengen.

OFF THE RECORD wil iets anders brengen, iets nieuw, iets fris. Dat kan zowel innoverend als cutting edge zijn, maar niet enkel voorbehouden aan de goed geïnformeerde oren onder ons. Ons doel is om de horizon van het publiek te verbreden met kwalitatieve muziek, iets wat momenteel moeilijk te vinden is in een scène die overheerst wordt met main stream muziek.

] BUM [ is het resultaat van onderzoek naar het concept van modulariteit,  in de driedimensionale ruimte en in de tijd. Het resultaat van dit onderzoek wordt gematerialiseerd door een structuur die kan worden omgezet in meerdere niveaus.

Een concreet niveau: de structuur is opgebouwd uit identieke elementen, waarvan de combinatie een oneindig kleine hoeveelheid kan vormen op basis van de ruimte waar het is geïnstalleerd.

Een virtueel niveau: video-beelden worden gemaakt door een reactieve audio patch volgens hetzelfde principe van modulariteit. Speciaal gemaakt voor deze structuur dankzij de Touch Design real-time software-synthese, worden deze beelden gesuperponeerd op het eerste niveau met een transformatie in tijd als resultaat.

OUT NOW: MODEK’S DEBUT EP ON LEKTROLUV!

Starting off with little knowledge of electronical genres, Modek soon realised just how complex it was to make those tracks that made dance halls blow apart. Very soon, he plunged himself into the electronic scene and became a huge fan of producers and DJs such as SebastiAn, Justice, Erol Alkan, Boys Noize etc. 

Some time and a bunch of productions later, his track ‘Boomcrack’ was picked up by national radiostation Studio Brussel. Soon after that, Modek remixed the Belgian rave classic ‘Anasthasia’ by T99 and people started to get to know him and his dirty sound. This track also made it to Studio Brussel while ‘Boomcrack’ went overseas, straight to Jaymo Andy George’s BBC Radio 1 show.

In 2009, Modek’s hard hitting ‘Hiroshima’ won the Belgian national producers contest in the electro/fidget genre. By then he’d also done a bunch of remixes for several labels, and had released his ‘Kamikaze’ EP on Keatchen Records.

Today, Modek’s tracks are being picked up and supported by a lot of DJ’s all around the world. With releases on respected labels such as Mental Groove and Dim Mak, he keeps growing and expanding his fan base and is ready to take over Europe and the world! 

This ‘Willow/Dust’ EP is his debut on Lektroluv and we’re very proud to have Modek on board!

If you didn’t just get back from a few months at the International Space Station, then you know that Music Man just released ‘Conducted’, Marcel Dettmann’s new mix-cd. Attentive listeners noticed that Marcel didn’t include any of his own tracks on this compilation, but we have some good news for his fans: Marcel made an exclusive track for Music Man! “Landscape” is nothing but a wonderful trip, as you will hear. On remix duties is Answer Code Request, a close friend of Marcel, who also appeared with a track on ‘Conducted’. A very special release to start 2012 with!!

Internationale samenwerkingen voor Belgische dj YVES V

Dj Yves V en Basto brachten einde december de steengoede houseplaat “Cloudbreaker” uit.  Deze mix bekleedt nog altijd een sterke positie in de top 20 van Beatport. De Belgische dj Yves V heeft de laatste weken allesbehalve stilgezeten en werkte aan een resem mixen en remixen. Er werden fijne samenwerkingen met groten namen, zoals Timbaland en Missy Elliot, op touw gezet en daar kan hij de volgende maanden al de vruchten van plukken.

Yves V brengt 3 gloednieuwe mixen op de markt. De eerste remix Amnesia (Ian Carey Rosette feat. Timbaland Brasco) wordt op 23 januari gereleased. Een week later brengt Yves V een remix “Spread the Love” van Pedro Henriques ft Guiseppe Viola uit.   Pedro Henriques, producer uit Miami leerde Yves V kennen tijdens zijn optreden op Tomorrowland vorig jaar. Onder de indruk van Yves V’s werk, besloot Pedro Henriques in zee te gaan met de jonge dj.  Als laatste volgt er een remix van het hiphop nummer “Get Involved”. Hiervoor mocht Yves V samenwerken met Ginuwine, Timbaland en Missy Elliot.  

Alles nummers worden uitgebracht onder het Smash The House label van de broers Dimitri Vegas Like Mike.  Onder dit label werden er reeds hits, oa Tomorrow met Dada Life, gescoord. Yves V is vooral bekend om zijn sets op Sensation, Tomorrowland, MysteryLand en boekte al succes met zijn eerste release “The Skillz” en de progressive house plaat “Insane Pressure”.
